The SaCCAs has been working with the community at the grass root level to reduce the prevalence of harmful traditional practices. The SaCCAs, without outside support, took members driven actions to address HTPs,GBVs and its consequence beyond their villages and the project area. Now the SaCCA groups are becoming strong change agents in the Woreda. It is bringing social and cultural transformation. In addition, the SaCCAs regularly arrange community dialogues in different villages to discuss on the causes of HTPs,GBVs and to set community based solutions by drafting and ratifying binding bylaws. The SaCCA representatives together with clan leaders to make rules regarding gender inequities and equalities observed in the villages. As a result, the practice of limiting women from participating in discussions and be part of decision making are being under negotiation for improvement.
